Dr Fowler Recieves Proclamation from Mayor Harper, Rowlett TX

The Rowlett City Council recognized Dr. James Fowler III with a proclamation during Tuesday's regular session.

Dr. Fowler was recently presented with the Five Outstanding Young Texans award by the Texas Junior Chamber of Commerce.

"None of this would be possible without the people behind me," Fowler said. "(My wife and I) want to be in a town where we can make a difference. I look forward to the future. This is an honor and a blessing."

Fowler was recognized for his philanthropic work and community service for the city of Rowlett. He was nominated by Leisa Peebles, a past member of the Garland Jaycees and a senator in the Jaycee organization. Peebles serves with Fowler on the Downtown Main Street Committee and has been impressed with his enthusiasm, dedication and willingness to work with local community and non-profit organizations in Rowlett.

"Dr. Fowler brings a fresh approach to the community," she said, "and has become a well-respected and much-liked contributor to the community."

Million Pound Weight Loss Challenge

This really has inspired me. The mayor of Oklahoma City has made a proclamation for the city to lose over 1,000,000 lbs. This happened after the city was voted one of the fattest city’s in the country. So far they have lost over 250,000 lbs. If they can do this I have absolute faith we can lose at least 500 lbs.

After the holidays we are going to have a weight loss and fitness challenge for our office. So eat up and get ready to have some fun. Our 2008 Birthday Bash and Pancake Breakfast was a huge success. Over 100 patients showed up on Saturday. Some of you we have been seeing for years some just for weeks. A great time was had by all and there is no way anyone left hungry.

The winners were drawn and contacted for the mountain bike and the massage chair. Watch out for pictures in the December newsletter.

We had over 50 people referred to the office during our birthday month so thank you all who trusted us enough to send in your friends and family. It shows that you really understand how powerful Chiropractic really is and that you can stay healthy and pain free without resorting to drugs or surgery.

Cancer Society Relay for Life

In September we got the opportunity to walk in the Rowlett Relay for Life. It is an all night walkathon to remember those that have passed from cancer, celebrate those that have beat it, and support those fighting it. Our team that was made up of many other members of the Rowlett Chamber of Commerce raised lots of money for research.

The Rowlet Chamber of Commerce, Rowlett's Downtown Businesses, and JT's Harley have sponsored a must attend Bike Night.

Bike night is a family fun event every other Wednesday throught the fall. The first bike night was July 30th "It was a great event" Stated Dr. Fowler from First Step Chiropractic. "There was a line out the door at big star, people dancing on the sidewalk, and raffles for great prizes from J.T.s Harley and other local businesses."

You may have seen the flyers in your waterbill if you are a resident of Rowlett. The Next events are August 13th, 27th, and September 10th, 7:00 - 9:00, Mainstreet - Downtown Rowlett.
